One of the most distinct and important features of our VersaClear® light therapy system is its ability to generate the power of light one light therapy session needs in order to produce the most effective results possible. What results are generated from this? Longer remissions of acne, brown spots, and the appearance of wrinkles! All the wonderful reasons you are most likely to visit a skincare specialist for.
Why DOES the Intensity of Light Matter?
Light therapy is when artificial light is used to treat conditions, such as those pertaining to skin (eczema, psoriasis, acne, anti-aging, etc.), seasonal affective disorder (SAD), hair loss, and more. Light energy is composed of photons, also known as electromagnetic energy that are either absorbed onto living tissue or diffused. Absorbed photons create photochemistry with other molecules, producing beneficial results for the skin.
The best way to see the correlation between light intensity and progressive skin care is to think of the example of how photosynthesis works. Photosynthesis is the best explanation of how plants and other organisms use light energy to grow.
As mentioned above, light transfers photons onto live organisms. The higher the light intensity, the more photons are used to produce chlorophyll, which are then used to generate ATP and NADPH, both necessary for the proper cycle of photosynthesis.
ATP is found all over our skin. As we age, its production level slows down, causing fine lines, brown spots, and the unusual appearances of many unwanted skin conditions. Since we’ve established that not all photons are absorbed by the skin, a significant amount will be necessary to make a difference. This is when light intensity comes into play.
The higher the intensity of light, the more photons are produced, which in turn creates a higher likelihood of being able to generate the necessary amount of ATP necessary to make a difference in anti-aging skin.
Mind the Danger of Overheating with High Intensity Light
One of the commonly known dangers of LED light therapy is its likelihood to overheat. For example, most LED light therapy panels consist of densely packed LEDs, which need the assistance of cooling systems to keep it from dangerously overheating.
As a company, we wanted to help spa owners by providing the absolute best results with the most cost-efficient option available. Since high intensity and LEDs don’t blend well together, we created the VersaClear® light therapy system to generate the highest intensity light through one of the safest light source there is, the icetron light by Osram Sylvania.
The VersaClear® light therapy system provides the light intensity needed to generate results needed for Skin Care Specialists, who need to be able to say, “I can help!” With the intensity and cost-efficient capabilities generated by VersaClear®, you can sit comfortably knowing your system is made with the highest quality materials that have 0% risk of overheating.
