LED is known as monochromatic, because the light they produce is a single color. If white light is necessary, it uses phosphors to convert blue light into white. This has raised concerns due to the possibility of toxic stress to the retina, especially when placing it right over someone’s face.
LEDs have also been a big seller in the skincare industry due to the hype about it being mercury-free. However, what you may not be aware of is the fact that it actually uses other toxic substances. For example, red light from the LED is made with a toxic substance called aluminum gallium arsenide.

Why the VersaClear® Light Therapy System Is Made Without LED Lights

To make this possible, Theralight® decided to go without the use of LEDs, which have raised many health and quality questions for experts around the world, despite its energy saving capabilities.

In addition, the icetron lights are not generated with the toxic chemicals that LEDs have. Each light module contain poly carbonate filters for added protection from any potential chemicals and UV light. In other words, protection is solid with the VersaClear® units.
The VersaClear® lights are not monochromatic. In fact, each light module comes with light colored filters for an easy exchange of colors, helping to provide more treatment options with less hassle.
